We are not ready to part with our beloved pair even in autumn

love = care. And in autumn, light-colored sneakers require much more care than in summer. Here are some simple care rules that will prolong the life of your beloved couples.

GET RID OF DRIED DIRT

Deep cleaning of sneakers begins with the removal of old dirt – so far without the use of water and means. Tap the soles of your sneakers together, and then use a dry, soft-bristled brush to gently go over the shoes. For the sole, you can use an old butter knife (with a blunt point and a rounded end) to remove dirt from the notches.

WASH THE SOLE

This can be done right under the tap using an old toothbrush. Be careful – water should not flood the top of the sneaker, especially if the shoes are leather.

DISCOVER THE LACES

Unlace your shoes completely and remove the insoles. With activewear, the laces serve a couple of seasons, and then they are replaced. But if your laces haven’t frayed, wash them and wear them again. Soak them in warm water with detergent (powder or stain remover if the dirt is strong), then rub gently and dry unfolded at room temperature.

USE A SOFT CLEANER

For the main cleaning step, use an eco-friendly detergent dissolved in water – even dishwashing detergent is suitable here, but always colorless. Dip a soft brush (for textile sneakers) or a piece of cloth (for leather) into this solution and wipe the shoes in a circular motion. If necessary, repeat the procedure several times. For heavy soiling on white textile sneakers, you can use bleach – 1 part bleach to 5 parts warm water.

DRY ONLY AT ROOM TEMPERATURE

A common mistake when drying sneakers is to put them next to the radiator. Textiles in such conditions can dry out and fade, and the skin can crack. We dry only at room temperature, and insert mold holders into leather shoes so that they do not lose their shape. At worst, stuff with paper or a dry cloth.

MOISTURIZE YOUR SKIN

Dried leather sneakers need to be soaked a little. Apply a small amount of balm (e.g. Saphir Creme Universelle) and wipe off excess with a dry cloth.

DON’T FORGET THE WATER-REPELLENT SPRAY

In our latitudes, without special impregnation in the fall, nowhere. How the product works: after spray treatment, a nano-barrier is formed on the surface of the sneakers, from which water simply flows off without leaving marks. Read the instructions carefully: not all sprays can be used for textile pairs.
